導入教育

英語表記	Introductory Education

高等教育機関への入学前後において、中等教育からの円滑な移行を促すことや、入学後の教育内容の効果をより高めることを目的として、学生に提供される正規課程に付随した教育プログラム。近年では、主に新入生を対象として学習スキルの習得や自己学習のための基礎作りなどを行う初年次教育が多くの大学で導入されているほか、大学の授業への高校生の参加や高等学校時の未履修科目の補習教育など各機関において多様な導入教育が実施されている。

Supplementary educational programs offered to students prior to or in the first year entering a higher education institution, for the smooth transition from secondary education and increasing the effectiveness of regular programs. Recently, many universities have started to offer learning preparation programs to ensure students' learning and self-studying skills. Various introductory education schemes have also been introduced such as upper secondary school students experiencing university classes and the developmental education of subjects while in upper secondary school.

独立行政法人

英語表記	Incorporated Administrative Agency

行政のスリム化・効率化を目指す国の行政改革の一環として、国から独立して公的な事務および事業を実施することを目的として、独立行政法人通則法及び個別法に基づき設立される法人。2001年に実施された中央省庁の再編に伴い、それまで国の機関として省庁に属していた事業実施部門や研究機関を国から切り離し、法人格のある組織とした。この制度は、英国のサッチャー政権が導入したエージェンシー制を参考に作られた。

An agency established pursuant to the Act of General Rules for Incorporated Administrative Agency and the individual act, to undertake public affairs and programs as a non-governmental body. Governmental departments and research institutes for public affairs were incorporated as part of the administrative reform for streamlining its efficiency in 2001. This system was inspired by the "Executive Agency" introduced by the Thatcher Administration in the United Kingdom.

独立行政法人通則法

英語表記	Act of General Rules for Incorporated Administrative Agency

独立行政法人制度の基本となる共通の事項を定めるために、1999年に制定された法律。独立行政法人である機構の設置根拠となる法律。

The act constituted in 1999 which provides basic concepts and rules of the system of incorporated administrative agencies. NIAD-UE was established under this act.

飛び入学

英語表記	Early Admission

特定の分野について特に優れた資質を有すると認められる学生について、高等学校を卒業しなくても大学に、大学を卒業しなくても大学院に、それぞれ入学することができる制度。例えば、高等学校に2年以上在学した者が、大学が定める分野で特に優れた資質を有すると認められた場合に大学に飛び入学することができる。 ただし、飛び入学生を受け入れる場合、大学（大学院）も一定の条件を満たしている必要がある。　
関係法令：学校教育法第90条第2項及び第102条第2項

A system to enable students with remarkable academic ability in a particular field to enter a university/graduate school which is entitled to enroll those students, before completing an upper secondary school/undergraduate program. For example, those who are at a three-year upper secondary school student for at least two years can apply to a university when judged by subject university to have outstanding ability in a chosen field.
